The Sidewalks of New York
I do my best, as a resident of the Big Apple, to present the best side of NYC. The glamour, the pathos, the traffic jams of the rich and famous. But this morning I opened an email from my co-blogger Jennifer Rose who suggested that I write about dog poop.
Is that any way to enhance a city's reputation?
Well, what prompted her suggestion was a bit strange and unusual, and we do specialize in the strange and unusual here at SAS. The New Yorker Magazine had an article about a new 339 page book which looks back at NYC's 30 year old poop scoop law entitled New York’s Poop Scoop Law: Dogs, the Dirt, and Due Process by Michael Brandow.
There is a moment of inspiration that leads to the writing of almost any book. The authors of Moby Dick, A Tale of Two Cities, and Pride and Prejudice must all have had inspirational moments which led to their writing their masterpieces.
But a book about doggy poop? If Mr. Brandow did have such a moment I don't want to know about it.
In any case, I hope that this post has entertained and enlightened you in some way. And I can say with certainty that it was inspired by Jennifer Rose.

OK, we've got the requisite post about practicing law done for the month! And the world has been spared my rant about the people of Morelia who totally ignored the same law in this city. “Tu perro, tu caca" just falls on deaf ears.
