According to a recent article on the CNN website, states, hit with ever widening budget gaps, are looking for new places to slap on more taxes. They are considering everything from strip clubs to marijuana. Of course, non-medical marijuana use would have to be legalized before it could be taxed.
A number that really blew my mind was the estimate that if California taxed marijuana at $50 an ounce, the State would bring in $1 billion in additional tax revenue.
Wow, there's a lot of smokin' going on in the Golden State! I'd say that it's no coincidence that this also is where the movie industry is based.

Your comment about the film industry is as subtle as Sarah Palin's comments about the same. It's no wonder artists and thinkers started the real social revolution at the HUAC meetings in San Francisco in 1960. After seeing "Reefer Madness" a million times, starting in California in the 50's, it made the agricultural rich state a fertile place for this soon to be legal plant. You also have to remember that most Marijuana smokers probably started their lives drinking milk.

All drugs should be legalized and their sales should be taxed like cigarettes and booze, which are also drugs, by the way.
