The Wall Street Journal reports today that Melissa Hathaway, the White House's acting cybersecurity czar (or "czarina" if you prefer) announced her resignation. Gee, even the "acting" czars don't stay very long in this administration.
Her reason for leaving? "It's time to pass the torch." I thought I smelled something burning.
In the past few months several people have turned down the job. Perhaps it has something to do with National Economic Adviser Larry Summers' view that whomever fills this position should report to two "bosses," the National Security Council and the National Economic Counsel. What's that quote about having too many masters?
