Let me state for the record that I am sick of hearing the phrase "No worries!"
The first time I heard it was from my daughter. Then my law partner said it. And now it's everywhere.
I was on the phone the other day with a friend, thanking her for a favor, and she replied, "No worries!" But then it got worse when I thanked her a second time. "No worries, no worries, no worries" she chirped like some out of control alarm clock. I almost screamed, "Stop it! Stop it with that stupid phrase already!" Of course, being the calm, even tempered person that I am, I contained my annoyance.
What does "no worries" mean anyway? I shouldn't worry about it? I'm not worried about it. Thanking someone for something is not an expression of being worried, it is showing appreciation for their generous act. Saying "no worries" almost trivializes my expression of appreciation, which comes out of a simple desire to show my appreciation, not my having an anxiety attack.
At which point in this post you'll certainly want to say, "No worries!"

Chill out, dude! No worries! (Was I the first?)
